But, he didn't even have a shot on target. Largely down to de Ligt.
The Ajax defender was only making his fifth appearance for his country, though produced a masterful performance in defence, keeping the Real Madrid striker very quiet.
What's more, the 18-year-old also created two goals.

No f*cking wonder Barcelona, among others, are keeping tabs on his rapid progress. Their scouts were reportedly in attendance, too.
Naturally, de Ligt's outing got social media talking. Here's some reaction to his brilliant display.
de Ligt graduated from the famed Ajax youth academy before eventually breaking into the first-team.

And after the game Liverpool's Virgil van Dijk was full of praise for his international colleague:
"Matthijs De Ligt is an excellent player, already mature for 18 years old," he told De Telegraaf via HITC.
"'Good enough is old enough', they often say. Of course I do not know what options he has [for a transfer], but when I see how he plays for Holland, it does not matter if he leaves the Eredivise now or in two years, that's up to him.
He's played 19 games in the Eredivisie this season but will he move on in the summer? Watch this space.
