How Arsenal's Alexandre Lacazette Reacted To Liverpool Losing On Social Media

A fan spotted what he liked on Twitter.

Alexandre Lacazette's social media activity makes for interesting reading.

Liverpool lost their first Premier League game of the season on Thursday night to Manchester City, failing to go the entire campaign unbeaten.

Arsenal, of course, managed that impressive feat in the 2003/2004 season.

Their fans were celebrating on social media as they remain the only team to see-out a season without defeat, and Lacazette echoed that feeling as he 'liked' a picture.

A Twitter account posted an image of Arsenal's 'The Invincibles' team alongside a distraught Mohamed Salah, which was 'liked' by Arsenal's French striker.

Dejan Lovren's words in December now look a little awkward.

Lovren, who played in Thursday's league fixture, said Liverpool could go the season unbeaten just like Arsene Wenger's players in 03/04.

"Hopefully we can be unbeaten until the end of the season," said Lovren. "That is why we came to Liverpool.

"Arsenal did it before so why not? Of course it will be a challenge but this is what we want. We know we can do it."

Oops.

He also did once claim he was one of the best defenders in the world.

"It's something special for me," he told beIN Sports in July. "From my point of view, people were saying I had a difficult season, but I don't agree with that.

"I showed that I took Liverpool to the Champions League final and now with my national team we are in the final.

"I think people should recognise that I'm one of the best defenders in the world and not just talk nonsense I will say."

We're not really sure which one is more awkward.

Anyway, goals from Sergio Aguero and Leroy Sane secured City's victory as they close the gap on Liverpool to four points.

Both teams turn their focus to the FA Cup before resuming league duties the weekend after.
