Idrissa Gueye's stunning individual highlights against Real Madrid in the Champions League are that good, they last for seven minutes.

Gueye played his first Champions League fixture in seven years on Wednesday and he absolutely bossed the middle of the park, dominating the experienced Toni Kroos and Casemiro in midfield.

He pulled the strings; from breaking up play and recovering the ball to setting up attacks and creating a goal.

BT Sport have uploaded Gueye's showing for Paris Saint-Germain and it makes for an incredible viewing.

Speaking after PSG's 3-0 victory, Rio Ferdinand showered him with praise.

"I'd seen him at Everton and thought he was a really good player, but he showed more tonight," he said.

"He was comfortable. Brought people into the game, it looked like he had been playing at this level for years."

His kinds words didn't go unnoticed. Gueye thanked the BT Sport pundit on social media.

Gueye's performance also sent social media into overdrive. Here's some reaction from Twitter:

PSG manager Thomas Tuchel also spoke glowingly about Gueye: "He is a machine, he never stops running, he recovers a lot of balls. The trio with Marquinhos and Verratti was very good."

Gueye, 29, cost the French giants a reported £30 million - a bargain in today's market, and his European outing proves he could be one of the signings of the season.

His reputation is growing with every appearance and he now has a stage at PSG to attract even more plaudits.
