Gerard Pique immediately aimed his crosshairs on Real Madrid in his post-match interview.

After Barcelona's goalless draw against Lyon, Pique wasted no time in digging out Real Madrid.

Santiago Solari's side have expressed concern over refereeing decisions in La Liga, and Pique fired back in brutal fashion while referencing a basketball game.

"It happens in basketball and in football," he said when asked about Real Madrid's criticism of officiating.

"Then they go to the Estadio Wanda Metropolitano and they're quiet for a while after what happened there."

The Barcelona defender is referring to Real Madrid's league victory against cross-town rivals Atletico Madrid earlier this season, where they had a few calls go their way.

"It's a good thing they don't do other sports, like handball or hockey, as they'd complain about those too," he added.

Meanwhile, after drawing 0-0 with Lyon, Pique also discussed the Champions League round of 16 first-leg result.

"The team has improved, although we must still do more. We had chances and it's true that it was difficult when we tried to score.

"But I am generally content. I think we've improved, but we can improve even more.

"The truth is that we weren't clinical up front, but that doesn't overly worry me.

"Those up front have shown over their careers that they can score lots of goals and the ball will end up going in."

Barcelona resume their league campaign on Saturday before facing Real Madrid in the Copa del Rey.
