"What would you be if you weren't a footballer?"
It's a question often thrown to a professional sportsman or woman in a typical one-on-one interview and, more often that not, the person in question will give a generic, boring answer that we've heard a million times before.
But of course, former England international Peter Crouch isn't your average guy. In an interview on The Graham Norton Show a few years back, the former Portsmouth and Tottenham striker gave a classic response.

Only Crouchy could get away with this.
During the show, comedian Jack Whitehall wanted to talk about 'the greatest' moment of his career, which brought about one of the best one-liners in television history. David Walliams and other guests burst into laughter as Crouchy produced his iconic grin.

Crouch's "Virgin" comment was actually voted the greatest sporting one-liners of all time, according to a survey from Metro.
Manchester United legend George Best came in second when he said: "I spent a lot of my money on booze, birds and fast cars - the rest I just squandered."
While Muhammed Ali's classic line: "I'm so fast that last night I turned off the light switch in my hotel room and got into bed before the room was dark" also featured in the list.

Crouch, who officially announced his retirement from football in 2019 after 21 years of entertaining the masses with robot celebrations and hilarious interviews.
The instantly recognisable 6ft 7inch striker enjoyed spells at Spurs, Aston Villa and Liverpool over the years but the iconic forward decided to hang up his size 12 boots in classy fashion.
"After a lot of deliberation this summer I have decided to retire from football." he announced on his official Twitter.
