Bayern Munich full-back Alphonso Davies gave a humble response when a fan suggested that Manchester United and England defender Luke Shaw is currently 'clear' of him.
The 20-year-old Canadian international, who made 41 appearances in all competitions last season, was hosting a Q&A session on his official TikTok account when the user suggested Shaw was a better player.
As you can see in the clip below, Davies was initially confused by the reference and asked his viewers to explain what being clear meant in football terms.
" I get it now! It means he's better.. Yeah I mean he is, he's a really good player."

He says: "I just saw one that was like 'Luke Shaw is clear'. What does that mean? Someone explain to me. I never really understood that - clear of what?"
Eventually someone pointed out that it means he's better and without hesitation, the Bayern player agreed. "Ohhh! Ohh, OK, I get it now, it means he's better. Yeah, I mean, he is, he's a really good player."
Davies then realises why everyone has been comparing other left-backs in the chat.
"Alright, so every time you say like 'Luke Shaw is clear, Robbo [Liverpool defender Andy Robertson] is clear, that means he's better'. OK, makes sense, makes sense."

Gotta love Alphonso Davies https://t.co/CmSFFPTo2e
Shaw has certainly proved his doubters wrong in the past 12 months or so.
The revitalised full-back, who recently lifted Manchester United's Players' Player of the Year award, enjoyed arguably his best season to date during the 2020/21 campaign under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer - a manager he has credited as being the primary reason behind his form.
He went on to impress with England at the European Championship this summer, recording three assists during the tournament.
He even found the net in the final against Italy, where Gareth Southgate's side went on to lose on penalties.

He broke ribs vs Germany
 But only Harry Maguire (7.62) garnered a better WhoScored rating than Luke Shaw (7.37) of all England players (2+ apps) this summer pic.twitter.com/OsLkfx0SrC
