The Biggest Derby In Turkey Descends Into Chaos With Five Players Sent Off

Well, two of the biggest teams in Turkey might have something to say about that sweeping statement.

Just a day after Celtic entertained Rangers in a typically hostile affair, a total of five players were sent off in the Istanbul derby between Fenerbahce and Besiktas.

Here's the highlights from last night's tie:

11 yellow cards, five red cards, three goals and two penalties gave fans plenty to shout about, even a clip of an angry Fenerbahce fan smashing his own television went viral during the game, but we'll get onto that later.

Ismail Koybasi and Luis Neto were sent off for Fenerbahce, while Ricardo Quaresma, Atiba Hutchinson and Ali Palabiyik saw red for Besiktas.

Perhaps the most surprising detail of last night's game was that Pepe, known for his 'aggressive style of play', didn't even receive a yellow.

As we mentioned earlier, a fan smashed his TV while watching the game and there's a great story behind it all.

Despite the fact Fenerbahce actually won the game 2-1, this lad was clearly frustrated with his sides efforts, but fear not, my friend.

Fenerbahce midfielder Souza has since made an attempt to find this television-breaking maniac on Twitter, promising to buy him a new TV for all the pain he went through during the hectic 90 minutes.

Souza replied to the above video, saying:

"The TV Owner worries me, I'm going to give you a new TV to watch the Fenerbahce games. but do not break the next kkkkkk

To prove his seriousness, Souza reiterated his desire to get in touch with the TV owner, saying:

"Please, I want the contact of the TV owner, I want to give him a new TV to watch the Fenerbahçe games. send me a message."
