Saturday was a distressing day for football following the tragic helicopter crash at Leicester City, and the incident involving Glenn Hoddle.

Hoddle, 61, collapsed at BT Sport's studio and it's now been brought to our attention that the ex-England manager received life-saving medical attention.

A BT Sport studio worker provided CPR which included mouth-to-mouth resuscitation.

Simon Daniels reacted quickly and rushed to the scene according to Mirror.

Robbie Savage described the events by posting the following Tweet:

"Worst experience of my life today, thoughts and prayers with Glenn and his family, so proud of our BT Sport team today, all heroes especially Simon."

Simon, who works a sound supervisor, responded to the post.

"So pleased that Glenn is now getting the best care possible in hospital," he wrote on social media.

"Just did what was necessary to give him a fighting chance. Thoughts are with his family. It was my training as a Special Constable that paid off," he added.

Hoddle is 'responding well' according to a spokesman.

"The condition is serious but Glenn is receiving specialist treatment and responding well," a spokesman said.

The football family sent heart-felt messages to Hoddle.

Get well soon, Glenn.
