We're all thinking it...

Germany crashed out of the 2018 World Cup, and Rio Ferdinand immediately sent a Tweet to Leroy Sane.

Joachim Low's team have exited the World Cup after a miserable tournament. Two defeats to Mexico then South Korea sees the defending champions depart Russia.

The likes of Manuel Neuer, Toni Kroos, Mesut Ozil, to name but a few, will go back home with their tail between their legs.

But one player who won't be returning home from Russia is Leroy Sane who didn't even make Low's 23-man World Cup squad.

His exclusion looks even more baffling following Germany's lack of attacking intent throughout the competition.

And once South Korea inflicted Germany with World Cup misery, Manchester United legend Ferdinand Tweeted about the Manchester City winger.

"Leroy Sane where are you?!?!? Germany fans must be sooooo mad. Their best young player told to enjoy the beach instead of World Cup Russia 2018. Crazy!"

Spot on, Rio.

Following World Cup disappointment, Low admitted his side didn't deserve to progress to the last 16.

"We didn't deserve to win the World Cup, and we didn't deserve to move into the last 16," he said.

"We were eliminated today not because we didn't want to win, but because our team wanted to win as you saw, but we never had a chance really to take the lead at any point."

Low added: "Those past years since 2006, we've been in the final four, the final, or even won. But this time round we have to say we didn't put in a performance like normal. We have to accept that. The disappointment of being eliminated is huge.

"Where do we go from here? We'll have to go from here. It would be premature for me to say anything at this point, but we will talk calmly about it."

Will Low remain as Germany boss? Watch this space.
