Fans Argue Phil Foden Is 'Better Than Erling Haaland And Kylian Mbappe' After Performance Vs Aston Villa

"I'd rather have [Phil] Foden than [Erling] Haaland or [Kylian] Mbappe. He's going to be a machine," one fan said. Bold statement to make?

Manchester City fans are convinced that Phil Foden is the 'best talent in world football' ahead of Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland.

Foden, 20, has thrived in the City midfield this season and scored 13 times and registered nine assists in 42 appearances.

And the City starlet showed exactly why Pep Guardiola thinks so highly of him in his side's 2-1 victory over Aston Villa at Villa Park on Wednesday.

Foden pulled City back into the match in the 22nd minute after John McGinn fired Villa into the lead in the first minute.

The City midfielder's all-round performance left fans singing his praises on social media, saying that he has been "absolutely sensational."

Both Paris Saint-Germain superstar Mbappe and Borussia Dortmund striker Haaland have already been tipped as the 'heirs' to Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

However, fans believe that Foden should be in the conversation for one of the world's best and have argued that the England international is better than both of them.

"Put Foden in at PSG in the French league and he'd have Mbappe numbers from midfield. He's a f*****g baller," one fan tweeted.

Someone else wrote: "Foden is actually so good, him. Haaland and Mbappe will be rivals for the Ballon d'Or in the future."

Another fan added: "Foden actually might be generational. God help us all for the next decade if City add another generational talent like Haaland or Mbappe."

While a fourth Twitter user added: "I'd rather have Foden than Haaland or Mbappe. He's going to be a machine."

City's 2-1 victory keeps them in pole position in the Premier League title race as they lead second-placed Manchester United by 11 points.

Guardiola's men will now turn their attention to the League Cup final as they face Tottenham at Wembley on Sunday.
