Carlo Ancelotti's Everton side walked away from Anfield with all three points in Saturday's Merseyside Derby after a 2-0 win, but a penalty decision in the 83rd minute has left plenty of Liverpool fans furious.

In the final minutes of the game, Everton broke away on the counter-attack when striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin was through on goal after a perfectly-weighted through ball from Richarlison.

The England international was denied by Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson with his first attempt but the Brazilian handed him a second bite of the cherry after parrying it into his path.

Before Calvert-Lewin could take a shot, however, Trent Alexander-Arnold appeared to trip the forward over by accident.

"I'm not sure what he's supposed to do!?" said Sky Sports commentator Jamie Carragher.

Do you agree? Do you think it should have been a penalty?

Everton midfielder Gylfi Sigur冒sson slotted away to make it 2-0 as The Toffees edged towards a huge three points at Anfield.

The penalty decision, meanwhile, was met with a mixed response from fans on social media.
