Player Pretends To Be Injured After Hitting Himself With Object During Guatemalan League Game
| Last updated
Batanecos FC player Rosbin Ramos attempted to deceive the referee during a recent Guatemalan third-division game against Deportivo San Lorenzo with a moment of utter madness.
No seriously, it's one of the most bizarre moments in football history.
The 22-year-old Venezuelan midfielder picked up an object that had been thrown onto the pitch by a fan and as both teams argued over another challenge further up the pitch, he made his move.
Ramos proceeded to hit himself in the face with said object before falling on the floor in a heap.
Despite his attempts to dupe the official, however, Ramos' bizarre diving performance were waved away because they didn't see the initial incident.
Deportivo San Lorenzo players, meanwhile, walked over to the ocar-winning performer and told him to get up.
To be fair, he deserved a red card for that acting alone. What was he thinking?!
:joy::soccer:No VAR in the Guatemalan third division, but we do have video of an opportunistic player picking up an orange peel that had been tossed onto the field and acting like it hit him.- Enock Essel Niccolo Makaville (@EsselKobina39) February 23, 2021

Ramos' embarrassing actions in the third-division match will likely see retrospective punishment.
Guatemala's football disciplinary body are expected to take action against Ramos over his antics, according to Football24,
And to add further insult to injury, Batanecos FC lost the game 3-1 against Deportivo San Lorenzo.
