Scottish Premier League side Inverness Caledonian Thistle have released an official club statement after a NSFW Twitter gaffe became an unintentional viral hit.

For a split second, @ICTFC's 'likes' on Twitter revealed a video from an account named 'PornHubVids'. Minutes later, the 'like' was quickly removed from their timeline after the blunder went viral.

But as we all know, Twitter users were quick to screenshot the evidence to spread the word about Inverness' unfortunate error.

In a strongly worded statement, Inverness apologised for their mistake and insist that 'a formal investigation is underway':

"The ICT board of directors are aware that on the evening of 27 July 2017, there was activity on the official club Twitter account which we deem to be entirely inappropriate and unacceptable.

"Procedures kicked in to remove the offending material and immediately lock down the account. ICT has notified the appropriate authorities and a formal investigation is underway.

"The club will revert with more information upon conclusion of the investigation. The ICT board of directors assure our staff and supporters that we will take all steps to identify the circumstances of this infringement and that steps will be taken to prevent recurrence."

Here's how Twitter reacted to the appalling Twitter gaffe:

Note: always make sure you switch accounts.

There's at least one person out of 24,000 who will screenshot that embarrassing moment.
