Remember when your Sunday League manager used to say "let them know you're there early doors", well Mexico defender Jesus Gallardo took that phrase to new heights, this afternoon.
That's right. If you popped in the kitchen to make a brew for the Mexico vs Sweden game then you might have missed the 23-year-old set a World Cup record for the fastest yellow card in history.
It took him just 15 seconds to challenge the Sweden player and as he lay on the floor, referee Nestor Pitana brandished a card to the shocked Gallardo.

Well, at least he managed to break one record this tournament. Definitely one to tell the grandkids.
Mexico currently have an impressive seven points in the group and will go through to the round of 16 with a huge amount confidence after wins over Germany and South Korea.

The celebrations when Lozano scored against the Germans even created an earthquake back in Mexico and the BBC showed fans at the fan park in Berlin absolutely loving it, surrounded by fans of their opposition.
But the players reaction was a different level as Javier Hernandez and others were seen crying when the final whistle blew, and who could blame them.
