Belgium goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois made an uncharacteristic error in their Nations League group B clash against Denmark on Wednesday night.

The Real Madrid shot stopper decided to try and control a simple Nacer Chadli pass but instead, the ball rolled under his foot and into the net in an extraorindary moment at the Den Dreef stadium.

Courtois attempted to run after the ball but it was too late.

He looked around in astonishment as Kasper Hjulmand's side managed to get a consolation in the 86th minute.

Thankfully for Courtois and his teammates, Belgium went on to win 4-2 thanks to goals from Youri Tielemans, Kevin de Bruyne and a brace from Romelu Lukaku as they sealed a place in the Nations League finals.

Leicester midfielder Tielemans opened the scoring in the 13th minute with a cracking drive from range.

The 23-year-old has now scored two goals in two games for his country and this one is arguably the best of his career to date. Take a look at the effort below.

Denmark's Jonas Wind headed in to equalise for the away side but it wasn't enough as in-form striker Romelu Lukaku scored twice in the 57th and 69th minute to make it 3-1.

Courtois' bizarre mistake made it 3-2 but Manchester City midfielder Kevin de Bruyne put the game to bed just minutes later as Belgium join Italy, France and Spain in the finals following Wednesday's results elsewhere.
