There's a reason why this ball-boy was brought on stage to celebrate Sydney FC's title success after a dramatic 2-1 win.
After a tense and feisty affair in normal time, the FFA Cup Final between Sydney FC and Adelaide United went to extra-time. Both teams went all out to secure the win but in the 114th minute, a mass brawl ensued.
In a moment of madness shortly after they conceded the winner, Adelaide United defender Michael Marrone literally tackled a ball-boy in front of the subs bench.
Marrone now faces the prospect of being banned for a long period after the incident that sparked such a huge reaction from players and staff.
Shortly after the final-whistle Adelaide United coach Marco Kurz apologised on behalf of Marrone via The Brisbane Times:
"I can only say sorry and Micky is very down. I think he spoke with the boy after the game and he's OK, it's not his nature and I hope after the talk it was OK but from my side and also from the players' side, we'll say sorry,"
As Sydney FC celebrated their cup final win, defender Michael Zullo decided to give the ball-boy who was involved in the controversial incident his winners medal.
The ball-boy even lifted the trophy with players, which sparked plenty of reaction on social media.
Thoughts on the incident involving Adelaide United defender Michael Marrone and the ball-boy? Does he deserve a ban?
