Everton Fans Mock Liverpool For Finishing Second, Club Also Trolls Them On Twitter

If there were ever a time and a place for Everton and their fans to mock Liverpool, it would be now. And hey, they have done exactly that!

Liverpool fans will be disappointed that their club failed to capture the Premier League title this season, but it's safe to say that Everton fans have no love lost for their city rivals.

In fact, it would seem that supporters loved every minute of the Reds missing out on the title, so much so that footage has been posted online of fans reminding Liverpool how they messed up at Goodison Park this season.

"You lost the league at Goodison Park," the fans can be heard chanting in the video.

Check it out below.

If that doesn't rub salt into the wounds, then the Toffees took it one step further when the club's official Twitter account tweeted their congratulations on City winning the title.

Ouch.

As expected, the fan reaction to Everton's tweet says it all.

Despite missing out on the title, Liverpool boss Jürgen Klopp said that finishing second in the league was "only the first step."

"We wanted to write our own history and we did," he told BBC Sport.

"The team made so many big steps in the last year. We made a much bigger jump development-wise.

"As long as Manchester City are around with their financial power, no team will pass them easily. We need to be very close to perfection to win the Premier League as long as this is the case."

Liverpool ended the season on 97 points, which would have been enough to win the league title in 25 of the past 27 seasons.

Was this the best title race in Premier League history?
