Manchester United and Leeds have been labelled as 'Elite' clubs for their away support, according to a fan's controversial ranking system.

Twitter user Tom sparked quite the online debate after posting a TierMaker ranking teams from 'Elite' to 'S**t.'

Defending Premier League champions Manchester City and this season's title challengers Liverpool fall below United and Leeds in the 'Good' tier.

Arsenal, Leicester City and Newcastle are among the teams to feature in the 'Average' tier.

But Chelsea, Bournemouth and Watford have the unfortunate pleasure of featuring in the 'S**t' tier.

The TierMaker, unsurprisingly, has triggered fans from different clubs as they've flooded social media with angry responses.

Twitter user Damian Pearce said: "The fact that you actually have Newcastle as average shows how much yous hate us and its embarassing [sic]!!! Newcastle, Sunderland, Leeds and Liverpool easily on numbers and noise are the best fans going Id even chuck Sheff Wed in there too."

While Gunners fan Samuel tweeted: "Arsenal literally has the best away fans lmao."

Aston Villa fan Dean angrily argued: "We literally sell out every away game even when we were in the championship but ok. UTV."

Someone else wrote: "I'd have Newcastle way above average, probably elite. When we were in the Prem they always brought the biggest following to Elland Road and were a sound bunch of fans as well."
