David Abraham plunged Eintracht Frankfurt's match into chaos after smashing into Freiburg manager Christian Streich with a WWE-style clothesline.

The brawl broke out deep into injury time as Frankfurt trailed Freiburg 1-0 and captain Abraham launched the ball into the box in a desperate attempt for his side to snatch a late equaliser.

A Freiburg player managed to hoof the ball clear and Frankfurt defender Abraham went charging down to the touchline to retrieve it.

But the 33-year-old 6ft 2in centre-back refused to move around Streich and instead landed a massive right arm into the Freiburg boss.

The 54-year-old German was subsequently sent crashing to the floor in the technical area and the match descended into chaos.

Players and staff from both sets of teams collided in the brawl as officials tried their best to control the situation.

After tensions between both camps were defused -- lasting almost five minutes -- the referee showed Abraham a straight red card as he continued to protest his innocence.

And stunned fans have flooded social media with messages after the brawl broke out.

Freiburg managed to hold on and secure a 1-0 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt at the Schwarzwald-Stadion.

Eintracht Frankfurt ended the Bundesliga match with nine men after Gelson Fernandes was sent off in first-half injury time and Abraham marched off in second-half stoppage time.

And Freiburg also finished the match with ten men as Vincenzo Grifo was sent off in injury time in the second half.

Nils Peterson's second-half winner has moved Freiburg level on points with second-placed RB Leipzig and third-placed Bayern Munich.
