Manchester United new boy Donny van de Beek produced a moment of magic that got fans very excited.

Van de Beek made his first appearance as a United player against Aston Villa on Saturday.

And the £35 million summer arrival showed a glimpse of his potential during the friendly fixture ahead of the new season.

The Dutchman started in midfield alongside Scott McTominay and delivered an assured performance from the middle of the park, displaying his range of passing and defensive capabilities.

But he had fans out of their seat when he performed a stunning turn, leaving two Villa players for dead.

United fans loved Van de Beek's piece of skill.

One Twitter user wrote: "He's quality, bossing the midfield alongside Mctominay."

A second wrote: "Ole's skillful reds."

A third wrote: "Donny van de Baller."

A fourth added: "A glimpse."

United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was "very happy" with Van de Beek's first outing for the club.

"Donny [Van de Beek] was maybe the biggest plus in the outfield," he said after his side's 1-0 defeat.

"He's such a finder of space and he creates time for himself with his timing and movement."

Solskjaer added: "I was very happy with his performance."

Van de Beek remains United's only major signing of the summer with the club heavily linked with a move for Borussia Dortmund forward Jadon Sancho.

The Red Devils begin their Premier League campaign against Crystal Palace next Saturday.
