It just wasn't Mohamed Salah's day.
Some might say he tried a little too hard to break the record for most goals in a single season during the Premier League era, but the Egyptian king couldn't convert against a dogged and determined Stoke City side.
Salah missed a one-on-one earlier in the game, which means he has now missed 21 clear-cut goalscoring opportunities in the league this season, more than any other player.
He failed to match Ruud Van Nistelrooy's record of 44 goals in the 2002/03 season this afternoon, but for once his efforts in front of goal didn't grab the headlines, as such.

Instead a moment involving Stoke City defender Bruno Martins Indi has raised a few questions.
Did he swing for his face or was it simply an accidental movement?
Plenty missed the incident, but a number of people on social media took note of his reaction.
