A Thread Of The Premier League's Best And Most Obscure Middle Names

Chelsea's 25-man Premier League squad announcement caused quite a stir on Tuesday night, but it wasn't just because of Petr Cech's shock inclusion.

The 38-year-old, who is currently a technical director at Stamford Bridge, appeared to announce his decision to come out of retirement after being named as an emergency goalkeeper cover alongside Kepa Arrizabalaga, Edouard Mendy and Willy Cabellero.

But after the initial news surrounding Cech's shock return settled down, many people noticed a selection of unusual middle names among the squad list, including Christian 'Mate' Pulisic and perhaps our all-time favourite, Kurt 'Happy' Zouma.

It gained a huge reaction from users on social media and after the dust had settled, Twitter user @nocontextfm1 decided to post a thread on the best middle names in the Premier League right now.

From Everton midfielder Gylfi 'Thor' Sigurdsson to Sheffield United's Phil 'Nikodem' Jagielka, here are the selections in full.
