It's one of the biggest rivalries in football.

The Istanbul derby often ends in absolute chaos, just look at this weekend's fixture for example, a game that descended Into madness when a 30 man brawl kicked off and three people were sent off.

The 'eternal rivalry' involves the two most successful clubs in Turkish football, so you can always expect a fiercely competitive fixture.

But things can turn sour - take one of the most infamous moments between Galatasaray and Fenerbahce, for example, back in 2007.

Police protection eventually stepped in to stop the Fenerbache player from being hit by missiles. It was a miracle that he wasn't hurt attempting to take the corner, to be honest.

You wouldn't want to be taking these set pieces, that's for sure.

Earlier this week these great rivals, Galatasaray and Fenerbahce, shared the points following an entertaining 2-2 draw but what happened after the game grabbed all the headlines.

As soon as the final whistle blew, both sets of teams - not to mention coaching staff - erupted and ran onto the field in absolutely crazy scenes.

Chaos ensued with three players brandished a red card for their part in the mayhem on the pitch.

Galatasaray's Badou Ndiaye and Fenerbahce pair Jailson & Roberto Soldado all received a red card after the final whistle.

As for the actual game, Galatasaray opened the scoring in the 30th minute with the hosts doubling their advantage thanks to Martin Linnes.

However, the visitors drew level through Mathieu Valbuena then Jailson.

Galatasaray remain a point off league leaders Istanbul Basaksehir and, as for Fenerbahce, they continue to float above relegation.

Another quiet Istanbul derby...
