The 33-year-old was excluded from Chelsea's traveling party to Sweden for their Europa League fixture against Malmo.
He's said to have been stunned to find his name was not on the list.
The report adds "Long-serving Chelsea staff have been surprised by the treatment of a player, who has been one of the club's best ambassadors and has won every domestic and European honour."
The Englishman has won the lot at Stamford Bridge. From Premier League and FA Cup success not to mention the prestigious Champions League in 2012.
Cahill, whose played in just one Premier League game this season, is entering the final six months of his Chelsea contract and is expected to leave the club in the summer.
He was subject to interest during the January transfer window with reports linking him with a move to Fulham and Arsenal, though a transfer failed to materialise.
