Manchester City's Tweet about Frank Lampard has not gone down too well with Chelsea's lot.

Today marks the anniversary of Lampard's final game in the Premier League. He finished his career in England with Manchester City and he scored on his last ever appearance on these shores.

The legendary midfielder scored in City's two-nil victory over Southampton back in 2015.

City have remembered his goal by posting a Tweet on social media and it's got Chelsea fans talking.

"A farewell goal for Frank Lampard," City's official account wrote, while adding "City legend" accompanied with the eyes emoji.

The Blues' attempt at banter has annoyed plenty of Chelsea supporters. Here's how they reacted:

Lampard transferred to City in 2014 and he played 32 top flight games, scoring six league goals including a strike against his former team Chelsea.

But he failed to win any piece of silverware.

Of course, he left England to join the Major League Soccer before retiring at New York City FC.
