Chelsea and Manchester City have ruthlessly trolled Steven Gerrard on the six year anniversary of his infamous slip at Anfield.

Today (April 27) marks the six year anniversary of Gerrard's blunder which cost his team as Demba Ba raced through on goal and scored during Chelsea's 2-0 victory.

And the Blues have remembered their famous away win by reliving Gerrard's slip and Ba's goal with Man City, who went onto win the league that season, also reacting to one of the biggest moments in Premier League history.

Chelsea took to social media to post a video of the sequence, accompanied with the caption: "Demba Ba v Liverpool. Six years ago today!"

The defending league champions swiftly replied to Chelsea's post with just an emoji.

Needless to say, Chelsea and Man City ganging up on the Liverpool legend sent social media wild.

"Two plastic clubs trying to mug off a proper club. Do us a favour," one social media user argued.

A second tweeted: "Shows sheer size of Liverpool both clubs are using Liverpool to get some attention and clicks."

A third added: "Why Man City getting involved were they even founded then."

Gerrard's slip remains etched in Premier League history. A moment football fans across the country will never forget.
