Jose Mourinho will be hoping to put his derby day misery behind him when Manchester United start their Europa League campaign away in Rotterdam on Thursday. And he'll be doing it without Wayne Rooney!

Of course United and the rest of the teams needn't worry about winning the Europa League because we all know Sevilla are going to finish third in their Champions League group, drop down to the Europa competition and inevitably win for the fourth season in a row.

However whilst the Red Devils are pretending that they have a chance of winning it they've got to get past Feyenoord, Fenerbahce and Zorya Luhansk to get through the group stages, starting with Feyenoord this week. And Jose Mourinho has kicked off the continental campaign by leaving captain Rooney at home.

The 'Special One' has also left out Antonio Valencia and Luke Shaw out of the squad for the trip but Wazza will be the headline news and it seems to have been met with a rather positive reaction by the club's fans:
