Bernardo Silva Was Inches Away From Recording One Of The Best Assists In Premier League History

"It was a magical run, it really was."

Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva produced the best moment of the first half during Sunday afternoon's Premier League clash against Liverpool.

In the 19th minute at Anfield, the in-form Portuguese channelled his inner Lionel Messi with a quite remarkable run that started from inside his own half.

He ran past Jordan Henderson in the middle as if he wasn't there before turning Andrew Robertson and Fabinho with a wonderful piece of skill.

Silva then dropped Virgil van Dijk to his knee and delivered a pin-point pass to Phil Foden, who was denied by goalkeeper Alisson.

This would have undoubtedly gone down as of the all-time great Premier League assists.

Manchester City dominated in large spells during the first half but have been unable to find the back of the net, despite seven attempts on goal.
