Ross Barkley And Jack Grealish Brutally Toyed With Arsenal's Defence During Aston Villa's 3-0 Win

Ross Barkley and Jack Grealish combined brilliantly to destroy Arsenal's defence with the pair of midfielders toying with them during their stunning 3-0 win.

Barkley set up Villa's second goal with an outrageous volley pass to Ollie Watkins while Grealish created his side's third goal with a tremendous solo effort.

The dynamic duo were on it from start as they also influenced Villa's first goal with superb build-up play.

Barkley and Grealish exchanged passes with the Chelsea loanee showboating to create an opening, eventually sliding in a ridiculous reverse pass to Matt Targett who found Trezeguet at the back post.

Villa boss Dean Smith praised Barkley and believes Gareth Southgate will be keeping an eye on his performances.

Speaking after the game, he said: "Good players, they can play with each other very quickly - they don't need time to work each other out.

"We are seeing that with Jack and Ross, both technically gifted footballers but have the work rate as well.

"Ross was a marquee signing for us, he wanted to get game time to get in the Euro squad. His performances will be nudging Gareth Southgate."

Barkley has performed wonders for Villa since his season-long loan switch from Chelsea.

He could be in line for an England recall with the Three Lions taking on Republic of Ireland as well as Nations League fixtures against Belgium and Iceland during the international period.
