Tottenham's defeat is another blow in their pursuit for top four as they are six points behind fourth-place Leicester City.
Spurs' lacklustre performance saw Bale, who is on loan from Real Madrid, replaced by Lucas Moura in the second half.
Fans have now taken to social media to vent their frustrations towards the 31-year-old Welsh winger, who has scored four times in 15 appearances across all competitions.
Mourinho has also been placed in the firing line as Spurs supporters are calling for the 'Special One' to be axed.
I was on the verge before the game but now I'm fully Jose Out. He won't walk and Levy won't sack him so we're stuck with him till the summer at least. My Chelsea mate @ChrisThomasBlue said Jose was going to destroy the club's spirit and he's well on course to do it! #JoseOut

The Spurs boss admitted that his side were poor with their first-half performance, but he insisted that he was "much happier" with their second-half showing.
Mourinho told BBC Radio 5 Live: "Not good in the first half, better in the second.
"We didn't start well, we started with some mistakes that lead to a ball that hit the post and then the goal.
"The team showed in the first half that it was too sad to play football. When you are too sad, you have no energy, enthusiasm or confidence, and that was what the team showed in the first half.
"The second half, I am much happier, they showed not a phenomenal performance, we didn't even turn the result but a different performance -- more intensity and more dynamic.
"We were dominant in the second half and deserved a better result."
Tottenham will now host London rivals Chelsea on Thursday before facing West Brom on Sunday.
