Alexander Sørloth has asked Trabzonspor fans to "stop calling and sending me messages" after a record-breaking 3.2 million people [and counting] posted a comment on his latest Instagram picture.

The 25-year-old striker, who currently plays in the Bundesliga for RB Leipzig, spent the entire 2019/20 season on loan at the Super Lig side from former club Crystal Palace.

During a successful spell in Trabzon, he not only became the club's top-scoring foreign player in a single season with 33 goals, but he lifted the Turkish Cup after scoring in a 2-0 win against Alanyaspor.

Despite his heroic efforts in Turkey, Sørloth decided to join Die Roten Bullen on a permanent transfer last summer for a reported €22 million.

The Norwegian international has, however, struggled to make an impact at the Red Bull Arena, scoring just six goals in 36 games for the German club.

As a result of his poor form, Sorloth has been strongly linked with a move back to Trabzon. In fact, Trabzonspor president Ahmet Agaoglu has admitted he would love to bring the 25-year-old forward back to the Şenol Güneş.

"We gave a Ferrari to Leipzig, but they have treated him like a normal car," Agaoglu said via Bild.

"Alex wasn't feeling well at Crystal Palace either, but then we built up his confidence here. We'd be happy to do that again."

The club has yet to make a formal offer for the player, according to the report, but clearly, there is an interest in taking Sorloth back to the Super Lig side - a statement that has certainly got the dedicated Trabzonspor fanbase excited.

To put their eagerness into context, over 3.2 million fans have commented on Sørloth's recent Instagram post, with many asking the former Rosenborg, Groningen and FC Midtjylland striker to rejoin.

As you can see from the below comments, these supporters are desperate to see their former striker wear the famous claret and blue once again.

The fact that this Instagram snap has the most comments on a footballers post in Instagram history says everything you need to know.

Sørloth has since taken to Twitter to express his gratitude for the continued love and support but at the same time, has asked them to tone it down a little.

"Hi Trabzonspor fans, I appreciate your love and support but please stop calling and sending me messages," he wrote.

"It makes my life very stressful. Enough is enough."

That post has since received over 4,000 comments and almost 28,000 likes at the time of writing.

I think it is fair to say Trabzonspor fans would like to see Sørloth back in their squad next season. What do you reckon?
