RB Salzburg's socially distanced trophy lift could be how Liverpool celebrate their Premier League title victory if they win the league.

The Austrian team had to have a socially distanced trophy presentation on Friday night.

The club were allowed to enjoy their success as long as they celebrated at a distance while adhering to social distancing measures amid the coronavirus crisis.

The Salzburg players stood on a large sheet which had circles printed for the players to stand in to ensure a safe environment.

Club captain Andreas Ulmer lifted the trophy in front of an empty stadium with his teammates celebrating the cup win from a distance.

Naturally, the bizarre nature of the trophy presentation sent social media wild.

"They were playing touching each for 90 mins and now they passing a trophy to each. I see no purpose for this social distancing," one social media user wrote.

A second tweeted: "This is so unnecessary,as if they didn't just play a sport together."

A third added: "Lowkey feel bad for Liverpool."

Liverpool's potential trophy presentation could look very similar if they can secure their first ever Premier League title.

The Reds are just two wins away from being crowned champions with England's top flight set to restart on June 17.
