Megan Rapinoe Rips Into England Fans Over Alex Morgan’s Tea-Drinking Celebration
USA superstar Megan Rapinoe has blasted England fans for being "so uptight" over Alex Morgan's controversial tea-drinking celebration.
The USA clashed with England in last summer's World Cup semi-finals and Morgan headed home the winner to send the Three Lionesses crashing out of the tournament.
But the 30-year-old American forward grabbed the headlines for her tea-drinking celebration, which appeared to be a subtle jab to England fans at the time.
Rapinoe, who won the Women's Ballon d'Or earlier this month, has praised Morgan for her "next-level trolling with the tea."
The 34-year-old American winger told BBC Sport: "There was lots of talk about arrogance, celebrating too much, but this is what you want.
"These are the goals you want and this team is giving it to you -- it's defiance but it's cheeky.
"I feel like we're going to have fun. We have a very serious role to play so it is kind of a balance of that.
"We have always done this -- we have done cartwheels, sang into microphones, made snow angels when we played in the snow.

"The next-level trolling with the tea [by Alex Morgan] is so funny; it's so funny because you English are so uptight sometimes. It was just so perfect, you know?
"I said after the Thailand game [where the USA team were criticised by pundits and former players for their celebrations in a 13-0 win at the World Cup in June] -- if anybody wants to come after us for not playing the right way, for not being good ambassadors, then I am happy to have that conversation."
Morgan's celebration even sparked an angry response from TV host Piers Morgan, who tweeted out during the England match: "Come on @Lionesses - make these cocky yanks choke on it."

The US were also heavily criticised for celebrating in their 13-0 demolition of Thailand.
But Morgan, who announced her pregnancy in October, fired back at the unfair criticism in July and slammed the double standards in the sport.
Rapinoe was in scintillating form for her country last summer as she beat fellow teammate Morgan to the World Cup Golden Boot.
The US captured their fourth World Cup title after beating the Netherlands 2-0 at the Parc Olympique Lyonnais in France.
