Raheem Sterling Reveals The One Shirt Missing From Stunning Collection

Raheem Sterling Reveals The One Shirt Missing From Stunning Collection

Raheem Sterling is awaiting Lionel Messi's shirt to complete his collection.

The Manchester City man has come up against the six-time Ballon d'Or winner in the Champions League but hasn't quite managed to get his hands on the Argentine's shirt just yet.

With Messi not getting any younger though, the England international is desperate to swap shirts with the Barcelona star.

'There's only one that I really want and that's a Messi shirt," Sterling said before playing against Everton midfielder Andre Gomes in ePremier League Invitational tournament.

Sterling never asked for an opposition player's shirt until he came up against Neymar and plans to have all of his shirts and silverware on a display once his career is over and done with.

Elche Goalkeeper Edgar Badia Looks Genuinely Shocked When Lionel Messi Asks For His Shirt

"When we played Barcelona I got a Neymar shirt. That was the first shirt I ever asked for.

'When I finish football and settle somewhere, I will hopefully have many shirts to choose from, pick my favourites and then I will do a room of trophies and football shirts."

Messi is not normally one to ask to swap shirts unless he's playing against a fellow Argentine but made an exception when he came up against the legendary Zinedine Zidane early on in his career.

More recently, he also keen on acquiring another shirt years later when he asked for Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger's.

The two were on opposite sides of a Champions League knockout tie and though Rudiger thought there was no way Messi would want to swap, thanks to an assist from teammate Cesc Fabregas, the German got the coveted jersey.
