Punter Makes History By Scooping £185,000 From £50 Bet

The betting gods are with him...

We have yet an early frontrunner for the 'bet of the year' award after a punter won a ridiculous £185,000 from a crazy £50 accumulator.

Clearly living by the motto "You only live once", the anonymous better placed a £50 bet on a total of 20 results and every single one of them came through. Madness.

He had Newcastle's win over Huddersfield, Arsenal's routine victory against Southampton, PSG's comfortable triumph over Nimes and Real Madrid's narrow win at Levante on his slip, along with comeback wins for Bury, Barcelona and Norwich City.

And as a result, he added an insane £185,162.09 to his bank balance after putting on the speculative bet at his local William Hill branch.

"He is a regular every Saturday morning and he places just the one bet every week," said a William Hill spokesman.

"He has been trying to beat the bookies for a number of years and has finally done it."

Here is his insane £50 twenty-fold bet in full:

AC Milan vs Empoli @2/7 (Won 3-0)

Newcastle vs Huddersfield @8/11 (Won 2-0)

Leeds vs Bolton @1/6 (Won 2-1)

Norwich vs Bristol City @EVS (Won 3-2)

Bury vs Oldham @8/11 (Won 3-1)

MK Dons vs Newport @4/5 (Won 2-0)

Morecambe vs Lincoln @4/5 (Won 2-0)

Inverness vs Morton @4/5(Won 1-0)

Raith vs Montrose @4/6 (Won 4-1)

Edinburgh vs Cowdenbeath @2/5 (Won 2-0)

Sevilla vs Barcelona @5/6 (Won 4-2)

Bayern Munich vs Hertha Berlin @1/7 (Won 1-0)

PSG vs Nimes @1/5 (Won 3-0)

Arsenal vs Southampton @4/9 (Won 2-0)

Hamilton vs Rangers @1/5 (Won 5-0)

Another incredible bet to have come in this season saw Robert Siddall, a staunch Sheffield United fan, stick on fiver on his side to win 4-1 at home to Aston Villa, with Jack O'Connell scoring the first goal. With Sky Bet, he got odds of 2000/1.

Lo and behold, Bobby's bet worked out absolute spot on. Defender O'Connell bagged the opener four minutes in and set Chris Wilder's side on their way to a rout over last year's play-off finalists.

Mark Duffy, Oliver Norwood and Billy Sharp all got on the scoresheet, before Villa new boy Ahmed El Ghazi grabbed a consolation with his first goal for the club.

It mean Robert pocketed a massive £10,000 from a single bet and all we can do is applaud him, really.
