Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly offered €30 million for Sandro Tonali, the 19-year old midfielder dubbed 'the new Pirlo'.

French outlet L'Equipe say that Leonardo, in his second spell as PSG sporting director, is high on Tonali and wanted to sign him while he was in the same role at AC Milan.

In 2012 the Brazilian famously signed a 19-year old Marco Verratti, then a relatively unknown quantity playing for Pescara in the Italian second tier, and is clearly hoping that history repeats itself.

Juventus, Napoli, Milan, Roma, Chelsea and Manchester City have all been linked with Tonali, who made his first-team debut as a 17-year old in 2017 and went on to help Brescia achieve promotion to Serie A last term.

He was called up to the Italy squad by Roberto Mancini in November and is currently with the Under 21's for the Under 21 European Championship on home soil.

Like Andrea Pirlo, Tonali hails from Lombardi, Italy and has drawn comparisons with the Azzurri legend thanks to his style of play, appearance and the fact he plays for Brescia - the club where the 40-year old started out.

The man himself acknowledges that the two have similar hairstyles but reckons he's actually more comparable to another Azzurri legend: Gennaro Gattuso.

"As for the Pirlo comparisons, he inspired me but I've never seen another like him," Tonali said in a press conference, as per Football Italia.

"Maybe my hair is similar. My role model was [Gennaro] Gattuso in terms of grit."
