Mauro Icardi could make his exit from Inter Milan this summer after it has been reported that Paris Saint-Germain want to sign him as a long-term replacement for Edinson Cavani.

The 26-year-old Argentine striker had been stripped of the captaincy this season and contract talks have stalled with the Italian club.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via Football Italia), the Ligue 1 club have listed Icardi as their top transfer target in their summer shopping list.

The Italian newspaper also added that I Nerazzurri would be willing for their former captain to leave the club for €70m, especially as his value has dropped in recent months.

The Argentina international, who has also been linked with the likes of Napoli and Juventus, has a contract that keeps him at the San Siro until 2021.

If Inter Milan refuse to sanction the sale at €70m, then the newly crowned Ligue 1 champions could wait for Icardi's €110m release clause to become active from 1st July until 15th July.

Icardi's agent and wife, Wanda Nara, has suggested that he would stay at the club, but he could be ready to leave if he is looking for a fresh start after an up-and-down season in Italy.

When it comes to Cavani, the former Napoli striker's current contract with the club expires at the end of the following season.

The 32-year-old Uruguay international, who has been linked with Chelsea, recently suggested that he could leave the club.

"A lot of things happened this season. It's different every year. The most important thing is to be able to keep our team together," he said (via Canal+).

"My future? I have a contract here. One more year. What do you want? I'm good, serene, happy with the life and the supporters. But in football, you never know."

PSG boss Thomas Tuchel will want to strengthen his squad options in the summer, especially after their Champions League exit to Manchester United in the round of 16.

Would Icardi be the right fit at PSG?
