Paris Saint-Germain have so far been unable to make any new signings but the club have identified a Borussia Dortmund star as a summer target.

The club were ultimately unsuccessful in their bid to bring Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to the club despite things looking promising to begin with.

But PSG are keen on Aubameyang's Dortmund teammate Raphael Guerreiro according to French outlet Le Parisien.

The Portugal international, who suffered an ankle injury in Portugal's 1-0 win over Russia in the Confederations Cup on Wednesday, joined Dortmund last summer from Lorient for a fee in the region of £9.5 million and went on to make 35 appearances in all competitions for the club as first-choice left-back under Thomas Tuchel.

And report suggest PSG want to end his stint in Germany prematurely by bringing the 23-year old back to France, where he has turned out for both Lorient and Caen at professional level.

The French giants see Guerreiro as the perfect long-term replacement for Maxwell, PSG's regular left-back whose contract expires at the end of the month and could see him retire from the game after winning a record 37 pieces of silverware.

Guerreiro was a target for PSG in 2015 but the club instead opted to sign Layvin Kurzawa from Monaco after being turned down by the player himself, who wanted regular football with Euro 2016 in mind.

Speaking to Kicker in March about his decision, he said:

"Even if PSG might have seemed like the natural next step, I do not think I would have gotten a lot of playing time there.

"I knew I would have the opportunity to keep on developing at Dortmund. I know a lot of young players who became great at BVB.

"Borussia Dortmund are a great club for me and I hope to stay here for a long time."

But now the club see the French-born defender as the ideal option for the left-back berth and could make a €20 million move.
