The FA appear to be wasting little time in finding a replacement for Roy Hodgson, following England's dreadful showing at Euro 2016 and it appears as though the Football Association have found their man.
Sam Allardyce has flown back to England from Sunderland's training camp in Austria and is believed to be holding talks with the FA's head of elite development Dan Ashworth.
The official line is that the Sunderland manager has left Austria to attend to business relating to the Mackems, but it appears he'll be following up the preliminary talks he held with Ashworth recently, where the former West Ham and Bolton manager declared his interest in the vacant England manager's position.
Allardyce's application for the job has also been boosted further by Sir Alex Ferguson, who gave the Sunderland boss his backing recently. Ferguson is close personal friends with David Gill, part of the taskforce the FA have put together to help find a new manager, from their time together at Manchester United.
