Potentially Worrying News For Atletico Madrid

Would be big shoes to fill.

While Atletico Madrid mourn yet again another Champions League final loss, some worrying news for Atleti fans and the club has emerged.

Their inspirational manager Diego Simeone is believed to be considering his future after another Final defeat. Despite pushing rivals Real all the way, his side were unable to cross the finish line eventually losing out on penalties. The passionate coach has overseen another loss to Real, having made the Final twice in the last three years, and will contemplate his future after a trophy-less season. Speaking after the game;

"Whoever wins then they deserve the victory. The only way to go on is keep working. It's a moment for me to think about things. When you give everything and it's not enough it's hard. These have been three wonderful years but I am not happy tonight. I do not know which hurts more, this final or the last one. I just feel for the people who have come to watch us."

When asked if he would walk away from the Vicente Calderon, he replied; "I am planning to think about it. We will just have to go home and lick our wounds. And I need to go home and think."

It doesn't bode well for Atleti fans, though timing is important as two clubs who were reportedly keen on the Argentine were Manchester United and Chelsea, who have just both appointed new managers in Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte, respectively. He may hold until something comes up, or even take a page out of Pep Guardiola's book and take a sabbatical.

Simeone has been in charge since 2011, where they amazingly won the La Liga in the 2013/14 season, as well as reaching the Champions League Final twice, on both occasions narrowly missing out to Real.
