Porto fans staged a wonderful tribute to Iker Casillas after he suffered a heart attack during a training session on Wednesday.

Sérgio Conceição's side ran out 4-0 winners against Aves at the Estadio do Dragao and the home fans showed their support for their No.1 by unveiling a banner containing a picture of the Spaniard, accompanied by the words "Forca Iker!" in the first minute of the game.

The Porto squad also remembered their teammate, revealing a banner of their own prior to the game as well as each player having Casillas' name on the back of their shirts.

The unfortunate story regarding the 37-year old's health scare was broken by Journalist Joao Oliveira from TVI on Wednesday, with Porto then confirming the news.

He is said to have undergone minor surgery at Hospital CUF in Porto and the Real Madrid legend took to Twitter to update fans on his wellbeing and send his thanks for the many messages of support he received.

Casillas recently signed a new deal with Porto but it has been suggested that the World Cup winner might 'not return to action and that his playing days are finished' as a result of the cardiac arrest.

In fact, his former rival and colleague Victor Valdes has already pleaded with Casillas to call it quits and retire from the game.

The former Manchester United and Middlesbrough player took to Instagram to share a message with Casillas, saying that he should prioritise his health over a prolonged career in football.

SPORTbible would like to wish Casillas a speedy recovery.
