As far as character references go getting defended by a porn baron probably wouldn't be your first choice. Spanish porn baron Ignacio Allende has confirmed David de Gea's defence over sexual assault claims.
The claims against the Spanish keeper came on the eve of the tournament and relate to De Gea setting up a meeting between two of his Spanish u21 colleagues and two women who were sexually assaulted.
A protected witness made the claims against the Manchester United goalie as part of a case against imprisoned pornographer Allende, known as Torbe. And writing a letter to porn actress Maria Lapiedra, as reported by Spanish news site ABC, Torbe defended the player saying:

"They only wanted to get to know the girls. The girls were free to do what they wanted with them.
"There are many more players but the police don't even want to know their names."
Before the tournament there were some claims for the former Atletico Madrid player to be removed from the Euro 2016 squad but the player came out in defiant mood saying, "It is all a lie. I feel even stronger about staying with the national team now... it is all false and it is in my lawyers hands"

This won't go down as one of the highlights in De Gea's career no matter what the eventual outcome is.
