Paul Pogba not only delivered a stellar performance in the World Cup final but also issued an inspirational message to his French teammates before kick-off.

The Manchester United star performed heroically on Sunday, inspiring his side to World Cup glory. He pulled the strings in the middle of the park while chipping in with a superb goal.

France eventually beat Croatia 4-2 to claim their second World Cup.

Didier Deschamps becomes just the third man to win the prestigious trophy as manager and player. His youthful squad is looking good ahead of the Euro's and next World Cup.

With the likes of Kylian Mbappe and Ousmane Dembele, among others. Not to mention Pogba who's also showing leadership traits after revealing his rousing pre-match speech.

"It is a dream since I was a young boy. I hope we have made the people proud," he said via Mirror.

Pogba added: "I told everyone before the game, 'We are 90 minutes away from realising our dream, we are 90 minutes from entering into history books for life, and we were 90 minutes away from making France rock - even children, and their children, will know about this. So guys, we can do this. There are two teams and a Cup and we are not going to let another team take this Cup.'

"That is all I told them."

Goosebumps.

Pogba's motivational words clearly worked with France taking an early lead through a Mario Mandzukic own goal, before doubling their advantage from the spot.

The dabbing-midfielder and Mbappe then bagged in the second half to secure a chunk of gold and a place in the history books.
