Players drop to the floor when the opposition score a last minute winner onFIFA 21.

EA Sports have added an extra bit of realism for the upcoming iteration ahead of its official release on 9 October and it's sure to go down very well with gamers.

A screenshot from Twitter user @delstroyer_ from the FIFA 21 beta is circulating on social media and shows Manchester City celebrating a late goal against Liverpool at Anfield.

While the likes of Sergio Aguero, Kevin De Bruyne and Raheem Sterling are wheeling away in euphoria, a slew of Liverpool players are slumped on the deck with their heads in their hands.

It's a sight we've seen many times in real life - perhaps most memorably from Ajax players when Lucas Moura bagged a dramatic winner in last year's Champions League semi-final.

Although not a monumental change, it's a welcome addition to the game and one that players are already getting excited about - though that excitement will definitely come down if they concede a last-gasp goal themselves.

In other changes, a whole host of clubs now have unique walk-out and goal music - while the advantage and new goal kick rules have been properly implemented in FIFA 21.

However, we do know that VAR does not feature in the game due to EA having "different priorities".

Gameplay producer Sam Rivera told SPORTbible: "It's part of football and a lot of goals go to VAR nowadays and people are like, 'That should be in FIFA!' and I agree if you look at realism, replicating real football, it should be there.

"However, it's a video game and at the end of the day we have different priorities that we need to work on. With VAR, we feel if it doesn't add as much as other features maybe do, to the actual experience.

"Whenever a collision happens we calculate right away and the rule system kicks in so we see there was ball contact and not player contact so this is not a foul.

"In real life the referee can go and check if it is a penalty kick or not. I think it's a matter of priorities, we felt other features can provide a better, more fun, experience."
