Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg's leg was left a bloody mess after he was on the receiving end of a horror tackle from Brentford's Josh Da Silva.
The Bees midfielder, formerly of Arsenal, caught the Dane right on the shin in the second half of the 2-0 defeat to Spurs in the Carabao Cup semi-final.
Having not been seen in real-time by Mike Dean, the official was encouraged to go to the screen and review the incident - coming to the decision that Da Silva had to be given a straight red.

Jose Mourinho branded the tackle "a disgrace" while on the touchline and Hojbjerg, despite his best efforts to stay on, had to leave the pitch and head straight down the tunnel for treatment after a large gash opened up.
You get the feeling that Hojbjerg was very lucky that he did not suffer a leg back such was the nasty nature of the tackle.

Spurs progressed to April's final at Wembley thanks to goals from Moussa Sissoko and Heung-Min Son.
Ivan Toney had a goal ruled offside in an agonising marginal VAR call when he thought he had equalised but it's Spurs who will meet either Manchester United or Manchester City in the final.
