Meanwhile, it's been reported that Olivier Giroud would be interested in heading back to Arsenal after struggling for game-time under Frank Lampard at Chelsea this season.
The Frenchman moved to Stamford Bridge as part of a transfer merry-go-round that saw Aubameyang join the Gunners from Dortmund and Michy Batshuayi move to BVB on loan.
Aubameyang has more than justified the club-record £56 million Arsenal paid for his services, having netted an impressive 56 goals in 89 appearances.
But with the former AC Milan man turning 31 next year, he knows he needs to be moving on if he wants to add to the two major honours he has won in his career thus far.
As for Arsenal, they may well be forced to let their talisman go in order to at least recoup some of the fee they splashed out to land him in January 2018.
