Fans and critics alike hailed the superstar youngster with O'Hara claiming he's better than 'Gazza' while McCoist said that he's an automatic starter for City and England.

O'Hara explained: "Watching him this season he's really come to the fore and made himself one of the top three players at Manchester City.

"I was looking at it thinking, and I know people always compare him to Gascoigne, but I look at Foden and think he's better than Gascoigne.

"I know that's a big statement, but it's just in terms of the way he's going in his career and the way he plays. He's doing it on the big stage already and he's just a kid.

"And to do it at Manchester City in a Pep Guardiola team and to be so young and dominating games - two winners in two legs in a huge fixture.

"I just think he's better than Gazza. For me, Gazza was my idol growing up. he won the FA Cup, he won the Scottish Premiership - we all know that doesn't count as it means nothing."

McCoist added: "It's been brilliant watching Foden.

"It seems a long time ago we were saying should he go out on loan, should he leave Man City, should he get more game time.

"Well, it looks at this stage of time that Guardiola has handled the whole situation perfectly.

"The biggest thing you can say about Foden at this time is that he looks an automatic starter for City and England."
