Petr Cech Criticises Arsenal Teammates After Southampton Performance

Petr Cech has voiced his disapproval with the performance of his Arsenal teammates after the Gunners dropped two points against Southampton at St. Mary's, this afternoon.
A late Olivier Giroud equaliser rescued a point for Arsenal after Charlie Austin had fired the Saints into a first half lead, but despite Arsenal's improvement in the second half, Cech still wasn't impressed by his teammates' slow start to the game, referencing last week's slow start which cost them the game against Manchester United.
Alexis Sanchez lost possession 32 vs. Southampton today, just two short of the record for an Arsenal player this season - also Alexis vs. Man United with possession lost 34 times. #afc pic.twitter.com/vh7aipIGdF

Fifth placed Arsenal are 17 points off City and 16 above the relegation zone. It is like a bad F1 race when one car is much faster than the others.

Speaking during a post-match interview Cech said, "The first 10 minutes cost us the game against Man United. And it almost did again today. It is something we have to work on. 1-1 is a fair result.
"Every player needs to ensure that when they step out of the dressing room they are ready to compete."
Sadly it looks like the highlight of Arsenal's 2017-18 season will be the release of the movie about the 1988-89 season.

The former Chelsea goalkeeper did praise his team's recovery in the second period, however, although the Gunners will be bitterly disappointed to throw away more points after last week's 3-1 defeat to United.
"We deserved to get a point for the second half performance.

"We put them under pressure and created more than in the first half. We don't deserve all three because we gave them good chances in the start and could have been 3-0 down."
The result at St. Mary's today leaves Arsenal in fifth place on 29 points from their opening 16 games.
