Pepe In Tears As FC Porto Player Nanu Knocked Unconscious In Horror Collision With Goalkeeper

Pepe In Tears As FC Porto Player Nanu Knocked Unconscious In Horror Collision With Goalkeeper

Former Real Madrid defender Pepe was in tears after seeing his FC Porto teammate Nanu knocked unconscious this evening.

Late in the 0-0 draw with Belenenses in the Liga Nos, Nanu collided with opposition goalkeeper Stanislav Kritsyuk and after being punched in the face, he dropped to the floor and landed right on his head at a sickening impact.

There was immediate concern from both sets of players and they frantically called for medical assistance. An ambulance made its way onto the pitch and there was a ten minute stoppage as an unmoved Nanu received treatment on the turf.

He was then taken off the field of play in the vehicle and presumably taken to a nearby hospital. A penalty was not awarded for the clash, only a corner.

Players, including veteran centre-back Pepe, were completely and utterly distraught and some were even seen praying.

Fortunately, Pepe was able to update fans in his post-match interview and confirmed that the full-back had regained consciousness in the ambulance.

It's incredibly promising news given the awful accident he was involved in and we hope for a speedy recovery for Nanu.
