Footage of Pep Guardiola's reaction as he arrived at Anfield last night has emerged online.
Liverpool supporters had planned to give the runaway Premier League leaders a hostile reception for the Champions League quarter final second leg but several fans stepped well out of line.
As the bus drove fans, some supporters hurled missiles such as flares and bottles at the City team bus - the damage so big that the Blues had to have a replacement bus sent for the journey back to Manchester.
Guardiola was fairly classy about the whole situation in his pre-match interview with BT Sport and said: "I know that it is not Liverpool."
But in a clip from GOL's TV coverage of the City boss and his squad stepping off the bus, Pep was clearly very unhappy and made his point to Anfield security staff in a sarcastic manner.
Putting his thumbs up to members of staff, he then said, "Thanks for protecting us. Thanks for protecting us. Thank you very much! I appreciate what you have done. Shame."
Liverpool issued a full apology to City's staff and players prior to the 3-0 win but have since been charged with four offences by UEFA for the behaviour of some of their supporters.

We won't hear of the punishment until 31 May, four days after the Champions League final.
